The club is based just outside of Henley and only a few minutes away from Sonning Common.
There are six quality tennis courts (resurfaced only a few years ago), a new club house (built in January 2014), a practice wall, and four of the courts are floodlit allowing for play in the evenings and darker months. The club house is fully fitted out with a kitchen, toilets, changing areas, an inside seating area and a veranda looking over the courts.
So there are fantastic facilities here!
Players having coaching don’t have to be a member of the tennis club but there will be a guest fee to pay for non members. For juniors attending the coaching regularly it does work out cheaper to become a member and members benefit to access to the courts to play and practice!
If you park on the common outside the Red Lion pub – there is then a pathway to the left of the pub that leads straight to the tennis club – a lovely peaceful area away from the road and surrounded by trees and greenery!
He’s loving the lessons and would very much like to continue next term. The coaches are so friendly and encouraging. It’s doing him a world of good.
It’s the coaches who really make his experience. Their enthusiasm and good humour is infectious and just what my son needs!
And as a teacher myself, I really appreciate the energy and effort it takes to constantly give out encouragement and targeted praise, designed to boost a player’s self-esteem and at the same time move their game practice forward.
I just wanted to say thank you to you all for such a fantastic introduction to tennis at your summer sessions. Sam has absolutely loved coming along and is super keen to carry on. You all radiate such enthusiasm for what you are doing (Sam particularly enjoyed being coached by Christian because he as the funniest, apparently!) Anyway, a big thank you for such brilliantly organised sessions.
Andy has a good rapport with the kids.
Great fun for the kids and great coaches!
The kids had a fantastic time and their tennis has come on leaps and bounds.
